Studio Happenings in October: 1s & 2s - The Not-so-Secret Special for Fall Hair

Hello AE Friends!
Sorry we were late. Here I am asking what more we could say and the only thing I can think about is that the email last week was sent out on Friday instead of Wednesday, as it was originally scheduled.
We even wrote it to say that "tomorrow was October 1st!" when in fact, "yesterday was October 1st" by the time it actually hit your inbox.
I wish I could say I forgot. I wish I could say that our system messed up (me) and it accidentally got scheduled for Friday instead of Wednesday. I wish I could say anything except for the truth, which is that I found last week's sweet, unsent, lonely email pending when I went in to begin drafting this one.
So, I'm sorry. It was late, but we thought of you on October 1st! And the day before. And the day after! And we hope you are well as we all finally get to enjoy a few cool, fall mornings rain-free.
We hit the ground running on October 1st at the AE (if you could say that we weren't already at a pretty steady jog). The image above is (from left to right) Mary Kate, Dani, and I (I'm Brett!) at the Aveda Institute / Park Lane on that fateful, rain-washed morning.
We came, we spun the "Wheel of Fun" again with a whole 'nother host of cosmetology students, and all three of us talked so much about hair and the AE that when we returned to the studio, we did well enough to rasp the rest of the day.
It was a great time, as always. We made some new friends - on Insta and IRL - and took home some resumes from budding beauty professionals. But mostly, we showed up as the AE and supported the experience that is Dallas beauty education with friendly smiles, a ton of pats on the back, and a really, really good time.
Of course, the home team was busy doing hair and rolling out our Holidaze Pre booking Raffle / 2027 Schedule Debut.
What that means for you is that our books for all stylists are yawning for your reservations, all the way through December 31, 2027 AND the raffle is in full swing, so let's get you in it, shall we?

Hello, Dee!!!
So many things are happening around here, there's hardly the space to share them all. Last week was a slow week for us with the rainy weather and cancellations, so when everything else was done on Friday, the staff made beaded friendship bracelets in their extra time.
Have I mentioned how creative our staff is?
Now, I'm a creative person, but I grew up motivated by one thing and one thing only, and that is food. I love food. And bevvies. But also food.
You may be wondering what this has to do with anything, but I say it here because I could talk about food, then eat it and talk about it again. I could eat and talk about food at the same time. I could fill these pages with musings on meals and ingredients and then go get second lunch. If you want to show me love? Feed me. Or share time with me over food. Or eat my food and say it's amazing.
We, the staff at the AE, are not all the same, but there are a lot of people here that are driven by the same thing: their own creative natures.
By art, by creating something from very little in many areas of their lives, by improving the world around them, by soaking in others' desires and making them real. And yes, also by making friendship bracelets and coloring and bedazzling and decorating and making slime and much to my delight, cooking and baking, too.
It's getting into the holiday season and all of you are so generous with us here. We don't need anything from you, but if you're wanting to show the AE a little love, know that we love to play artistic(k) and that you make the art that is our lives possible.
The Fall Reset. For real this time.
If the month of September was just too hot to think about thinking about fall or if you're one of those people who waits until after the Autumnal Equinox to call fall "official", this one's for you.
October is the perfect time to refresh your look.
If you were to back me into a corner, I'd have to admit there is no "perfect time", truly.
Personally, I'm still working on "perfect" issues. BUT.

I'm so glad you asked.
Part of it is because it's a bit true, part of it is because it's my job to say so, but the biggest part is the part of me that just turned 40 in June (that's all of me, I turned 40 in June). That part of me has realized that if any time is the best time to live your best life or do something good for yourself or do something lovely and scary and new or non, that time is now.

The details:
The October Special is an offering for one haircut at no charge with any color service of $80 or more with a Level 1 or Level 2 stylist during October 2026. The October Special ends on the evening of October 31, 2026. **Any reservations after that date are not included in the October Special.
The discount will be applied at the end of your reservation, at the register. Only one haircut per qualifying color service.
Additional services, upgrades, or charges may apply.
Talk to your stylist during your consultation (the beginning of your reservation) and ask them any questions you have on pricing and add-ons before they begin your color service.
